Dilhar Bachech was a prominent Bombay-based pictorialist photographer, former president, and generous benefactor of The Photographic Society of India. He served as its president from 1983 to 1987 and guided the society through the mid-1980s, helping foster a structured community for hobbyists and master photographers in Mumbai. His pictorial landscape and nature works were widely exhibited across India and internationally, including at the Bombay Art Society and the Hongkong International Salon. He donated the prestigious Anniversary Landscape Trophy to The Photographic Society of India, an annual award that honors exceptional landscape photography capturing the natural beauty of the environment.
