Shamshad Husain (1946–2015), son of legendary artist M.F. Husain, was a painter, printmaker and sculptor trained at Baroda and the Royal College of Art, London. Winner of the National Award (1983) and a Government of India Fellowship (1983–85), he held 28 solo shows across India and internationally, from Bombay and Delhi to Copenhagen, London, Geneva, and Hoffhiem. His work featured in major biennales and festivals including Tokyo, Dhaka, Ankara, and the Festival of India in the USSR, as well as the Traveling Print Exhibition in the USA (1985–86). Beyond painting, he created public murals in Jaipur and Delhi and sculptures in Hyderabad, Delhi, and Mussoorie. His works remain in prominent private and corporate collections worldwide.
