Description :

Shabbir Hasan Quazi was born on 15th August 1946 in Ajmer. After completing his bachelors, he acquired his Master Degree in Paintings from the University of Udaipur in 1969. He then went on to get his Doctorate from Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. He started his career with teaching at BV College of Arts and Science, Banasthali Vidyapith which then took him to the University of Rajasthan, Faculty of Fine Arts where he served for over 30 years. He also worked as the Head of Department and Dean in the faculty and promoted and shaped number of budding artists. Over the years Shabbir Hasan Quazi has won numerous awards, accolades and nominations. One of which is the Medaillede Bronze from the Carousel du Louvre Paris. He is the first Indian to receive this prestigious award given by the Societe National Des Beaux Arts Paris. His paintings are also exhibited at some prominent places like the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi’s residence, The Prime Minister’s residence, The National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi and The Lalit Kala Academy in New Delhi to name a few.
