<p>Jeram Patel (1930&ndash;2016) was born in Sojitra, Gujarat, Jeram Patel studied at Sir JJ School of Art, Mumbai, and later at the Central School of Arts and Craft, London. A pioneering abstractionist, he helped reshape Indian modern art in the late 1950s and &rsquo;60s as a founder of Group 1890, alongside Jagdish Swaminathan. Patel exhibited widely in India and abroad, representing the country at major biennales in Tokyo, S&atilde;o Paulo, and Baghdad, and at the Festival of India in London. His works are housed in leading collections including the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, and the Lalit Kala Akademi. A long-time professor at Baroda&rsquo;s Faculty of Fine Arts, he was honoured with multiple National Awards, a Bombay Art Society silver medal, and the Government of India&rsquo;s Emeritus Fellowship.</p>

<p>This lithograph was part of a portfolio of prints produced by group of artists including N. B. Joglekar, V. R. Patel, Nirmalendu Das and Jeram Patel at the Faculty of Fine Arts, MSU Baroda for the Annual Fine Arts Fair in the year 1974.</p>
